Generate A QR Code For Your Hosted Landing Page

SweepWidget automatically generates a QR code for your hosted landing page, making it easy to share your giveaway in print materials, at events, or anywhere a scannable code is useful.

How to Access This Feature

The QR code option is found on the “Your Giveaway is Ready!” page:

  1. After creating a new giveaway: Click Save & Publish at the bottom of the giveaway builder
  2. From an existing giveaway: From your Dashboard, find the giveaway and click Embed Into Your Website or Embed Into HTML Of Your Site

Scroll down to the Hosted landing page section to find the QR code option.

How to Generate Your QR Code

  1. On the “Your Giveaway is Ready!” page, scroll to the Hosted landing page section
  2. Check the box “Get a sharable QR code”
  3. Your QR code will be generated and displayed immediately
  4. Click the Download QR Code button to save the image file

What the QR Code Links To

The QR code automatically links to your hosted landing page URL. Below the QR code, you’ll see a message confirming the destination:

“This QR code will link to your giveaway here: https://sweepwidget.com/c/82760-d97i26tq”

If you’ve created a custom URL for your hosted landing page, the QR code will link to that custom URL instead.

Use Cases for QR Codes

QR codes are perfect for bridging offline and online experiences:

Print Marketing

  • Flyers and brochures – Add the QR code to promotional materials
  • Posters – Display in storefronts or at events
  • Business cards – Include on promotional business cards
  • Postcards and mailers – Direct mail campaigns with easy entry

In-Store and Events

  • Point of sale displays – Let customers scan while checking out
  • Trade show booths – Quick entry for booth visitors
  • Event signage – Conference banners, table tents, name badges
  • Product displays – Scan to enter a giveaway related to the product

Product and Packaging

  • Product packaging – Include QR code inside or outside product boxes
  • Receipts – Print QR code on customer receipts
  • Thank you cards – Include in shipped orders
  • Product inserts – Add to product documentation or instruction manuals

Tips for Using QR Codes

  • Test before printing – Always scan your QR code with multiple devices to ensure it works correctly
  • Ensure adequate size – QR codes need to be large enough to scan reliably (at least 1 inch / 2.5 cm square for close-range scanning)
  • Provide contrast – QR codes work best with dark codes on light backgrounds
  • Add a call to action – Include text like “Scan to enter!” or “Scan for a chance to win!” near the QR code
  • Consider placement – Position QR codes where they’re easy to reach and scan
  • Include the URL as backup – For accessibility, print the URL alongside the QR code

QR Code File Format

When you click Download QR Code, you’ll receive a high-resolution image file that can be used in most design and print applications.
