The Giveaway Platform Your Legal Team Approves
Built for brands whose legal, security or compliance team reviews every vendor before signing.
SweepWidget gives your reviewers the three things they ask for: fraud detection they can question, webhooks they can verify and entry records they can export. Most giveaway tools list “fraud protection” as a checkbox. SweepWidget’s public docs say exactly what each security level checks, exactly how a webhook is signed and exactly what you can export when someone asks you to prove how a winner was picked. SweepWidget’s homepage lists Rakuten, HP and Boy Scouts of America among the brands that trust it, alongside Rare Beauty, Compass, Keller Williams, Quizlet and Apartments.com.

What does “your legal team approves” mean here?
Three things, each backed by a public doc your reviewer can read without booking a call.
Fraud detection you can name, not just claim. SweepWidget has four security levels, per its security levels doc. Standard checks whether an email address exists and can receive mail, flags catch-all addresses and recent reported abuse, and checks whether the DNS or IP address is blacklisted, then gives an overall fraud score. Strong adds device fingerprinting that “looks at over 300 data points to determine if they are a real person.” Strict takes fingerprinting “to the maximum” with the most rigorous fraud scoring. You pick the level that matches the prize.
Webhooks that are signed, not just sent. Every webhook carries an X-SweepWidget-Signature header: an HMAC-SHA256 signature of the payload body, prefixed with sha256=, per SweepWidget’s webhooks doc. Your engineers compute the same hash with your signing secret and compare. Three events fire automatically: entry_submitted, task_completed and all_entries_completed.
Entry and winner records you can pull, not request. Entries, completed actions and winner selections export to CSV on demand, and you can view every entry for an individual entrant at any time. When someone disputes a winner, you pull a record instead of rebuilding one.
Which plan includes which control?
Legal reviewers usually ask what’s on the plan you’ll actually buy. Per SweepWidget’s pricing page, checked October 15, 2026:
| Control | Included on |
|---|---|
| Unlimited entries | Every paid plan, from Pro ($29/mo) |
| Anti-cheating tools, VPN blocking, per-IP entry limits, IP and email allow and block lists | Pro ($29/mo) |
| Leaderboards, instant coupons, Zapier, purchase entries verified through Shopify or WooCommerce | Business ($59/mo) |
| Email verification, country restriction, branding removal, custom CSS | Premium ($119/mo) |
| Phone verification, API access, signed webhooks, dedicated account contact | Enterprise ($249/mo) |

How does the audit trail work?
- Every entry is recorded with its entry method and tied to that entrant’s record.
- Actions are checked, not assumed. Purchase entries are verified through Shopify or WooCommerce, and the security level you choose screens each entry before a winner is drawn.
- Every result is exportable. Winners, full entrant lists and per-entrant action histories export to CSV, so your record of what happened doesn’t live only inside a vendor’s dashboard.
What about official rules?
SweepWidget’s rules generator builds official rules from your giveaway’s details, covering eligibility, agreement to rules, the sweepstakes period, how to enter, prizes, winner selection, winner notification, rights granted, terms and conditions and limitation of liability, plus the statement “NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.” You can also write or paste your own terms.
It’s a template, not legal advice, and SweepWidget says so: “SweepWidget does not provide legal advice; Laws and regulations vary by location; You are responsible for ensuring your rules comply with all applicable laws; For significant promotions, consider consulting with a legal professional.” Pair the generated rules with your own legal review, then use the security levels and exports above to show how those rules were enforced.
Why do enterprise giveaways get stopped in procurement?
Usually for one of two reasons: nobody can explain how fraud is caught, or nobody can prove what happened afterwards. SweepWidget’s Enterprise plan adds a dedicated account contact for that conversation, walking your legal, security or compliance reviewer through data handling and the documentation above before you sign. Our Privacy Policy covers how entrant and account data is handled.

Frequently asked questions
How does SweepWidget detect fraudulent entries?
SweepWidget has four security levels. Standard checks whether an email exists and can receive mail, flags catch-all addresses and reported abuse, and checks DNS and IP blacklists. Strong adds device fingerprinting across more than 300 data points. Strict applies the most rigorous fraud scoring, for high-value prizes. Anti-cheating tools, VPN blocking and per-IP entry limits are included on Pro ($29/month).
Can our engineering team verify that a webhook came from SweepWidget?
Yes. Every webhook includes an X-SweepWidget-Signature header with an HMAC-SHA256 signature of the payload body, prefixed with sha256=. Your team computes the same hash with your signing secret and compares it to the header; if they match, the request is authentic. Webhooks are available on the Enterprise plan.
What records can we export to show how a winner was selected?
Entries, completed actions and winner selections export to CSV on demand, and you can view every entry for an individual entrant in the dashboard at any time. That gives you a standing record you control, rather than one you’d need to request afterwards.
Which plan includes API access and webhooks?
API access and webhooks are on SweepWidget’s Enterprise plan ($249/month), which also includes phone verification and a dedicated account contact. Email verification and country restriction are included on Premium ($119/month). Checked October 15, 2026.
Does SweepWidget’s rules generator cover our legal compliance?
No. It builds official rules covering eligibility, the sweepstakes period, how to enter, prizes, winner selection and more, but SweepWidget states that it “does not provide legal advice” and that you are responsible for ensuring your rules comply with all applicable laws. Use it as a starting template alongside your own legal review.
Does SweepWidget hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification?
SweepWidget doesn’t publish a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification on its site (checked October 15, 2026). Its Privacy Policy covers how entrant and account data is handled, and the Enterprise plan’s dedicated account contact can walk your team through data-handling questions before you sign.
