Sunshine State 250 Showdown

The Sunshine State 250 Showdown supports American Legion Posts across Florida in planning and executing community events in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary. The program encourages membership growth, volunteer engagement, and strong community partnerships while providing Posts with planning resources, guidance, and opportunities for statewide recognition and mission-aligned Post upgrades, among other awards.

Prizes will be distributed based on the level of participation—the more Posts that compete, the larger the potential rewards.

Awards for the Best Overall Post category will consist of a minimum aggregate award pool with an estimated total value of $175,000, comprised of mission-aligned Post upgrades, products, services, or resources, as further described in the Rules and Regulations.

Awards will be distributed based on overall placement within each Post size tier, with higher-ranked Posts receiving a greater share of the total award value. Award values are associated with placement and are intended to recognize increasing levels of participation, impact, and performance demonstrated over the course of the Contest period.

Any expansion of award recipients based on participation levels will not affect scoring criteria or evaluation standards.

Final prize amounts and distribution details will be officially announced on March 31, 2026.
