Sometimes you need to remove someone as a winner after they’ve been selected. SweepWidget gives you two options: unpicking<\/strong> a winner or disqualifying<\/strong> them. Understanding the difference is important because they have different effects on whether the person can be selected again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Unpick a Winner<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Use this option when you want to remove someone as a winner but keep them eligible to potentially win again in a future drawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Go to Manage Entries<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  1. Go to your Dashboard<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Find the giveaway you want to manage<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click the Manage Entries<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Step 2: View Winners<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Click the View Winners<\/strong> button (orange) to see all selected winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to Disqualify a Winner<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Use this option when you want to remove someone as a winner AND prevent them from ever being picked again. This is useful when a winner violated the rules, didn’t respond to contact attempts, or is otherwise ineligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Option 1: Disqualify from the Winners Page<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go to the Winners page (View Winners button)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Find the winner you want to disqualify<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click the red Disqualify<\/strong> button next to their name<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      This disqualifies the user entirely, removing their winner status and preventing them from being picked again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Option 2: Disqualify from the User’s Page<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      1. Click on the winner’s name to view their entries<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Click the Disqualify [Name]<\/strong> button to disqualify the entire user<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Disqualifying Users vs. Disqualifying Entries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        When disqualifying, you have two choices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Disqualify Entries<\/strong><\/td>Disqualifies only specific entries you select – other entries remain valid<\/td>Some entries are invalid but the user should still be eligible with their other entries<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

        How to Disqualify Specific Entries Only<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        1. Go to the user’s individual entries page (click on their name)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Click the Disqualify Entries<\/strong> button<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Select the specific entries you want to disqualify<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Confirm the disqualification<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          The user will still be eligible for winner selection based on their remaining valid entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          What Happens After Disqualifying<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          When you disqualify a user:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          • They are removed from the winners list (if they were a winner)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Their entries are marked as disqualified and no longer count<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • They cannot be selected in any future winner drawings<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Their entry count shows as 0 in statistics<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • If they had a prize assigned, that prize becomes available again<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Picking a Replacement Winner<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            After unpicking or disqualifying a winner, you’ll likely want to select a replacement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            1. Go back to the Entries page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Click Pick A Winner<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Use the random selection to draw a new winner<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              If you unpicked the previous winner, they will be included in the pool of eligible participants. If you disqualified them, they will not be included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
